Grishma Patel, Director
Brazos Learning Montessori School
The Montessori method is holistic, allowing students to see the bigger picture: the why of everything they learn. Students are empowered to become confident, empathetic, and intellectually curious problem-solvers inside and outside of the classroom.
At Brazos Learning Montessori School, we believe education should be both rigorous and fun. Using the scientifically proven philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, our academy educates children through intentional play and self-discovery. Our highly trained teachers engage each student’s passions and learning styles.
Encourage personal growth and a love of learning.
Equip each student with tools for personal and academic success.
Foster a nurturing learning environment that encourages curiosity without limits.
We are committed to launching our students on empowering, lifelong educational journeys.
Our teachers are what make every day special for our children. Our teachers are creative, understanding, and passionate. They work with families to create every child’s own success story.
+ Susan Kirkpatrick, Assistant Director
Hello, my name is Susan Kirkpatrick, and I’m the Assistant Director here at Brazos Learning Montessori School. I’ve been in management positions for the last ten years, and I’m looking forward to continuing that position here. I’m enjoying meeting our students and working with children is a real joy! I grew up in this area, and I’m excited to help bring this new educational opportunity to our community.
I have two adult daughters, and when I’m not working, I’m generally either spending time with family or friends, reading, or being a complete geek about either science fiction or Broadway shows. I’m looking forward to watching all our students’ journey here at the school, and watching them learn and grow!
+ Hannah Cooper, Toddler Lead Guide
Hello my name is Hannah Cooper. I am a Toddler Lead at Brazos Learning Montessori School. I have a B. S. in Early Childhood Education from Liberty University. I have been passionate about Early Childhood Education for as long as I can remember. Ensuring that each child has their best opportunity to have a successful life is important to me and that starts with an early education.
I chose a Montessori Environment to start my teaching career because I believe that children are little scientists who are determined to discover the world in their own ways. Allowing the children to learn through play gives them a sense of ownership over what they are learning and an excitement to keep learning. Watching a child master a material that they previously were just exploring is the pride of a teacher and why I come in with a smile every day.
+ Ana Sweatt, Early Childhood Lead Guide
I am passionate about the hands-on approach to education at a Montessori school. Children are given the opportunity at a very young age to use all their senses to learn more about themselves, others, and the world around them. In a Montessori school, children develop a love for learning. I believe they can do it, because each child is respected as a unique individual, with the freedom to choose the level, and even the subject lessons they want to learn each day. Courtesy and respect are essential values that are modeled, daily, in a Montessori school.
+ Lisa Terrasa, Toddler Assistant Guide
My name is Lisa. I am married and have two amazing adult sons. My husband and I moved from Kansas City two years ago to his hometown of Lake Jackson. I have taught for many years working with early childhood ages from infant to 6 years of age. I have always enjoyed the art of teaching coupled with learning from what children can unknowingly teach me. I am excited to be working at Brazos Learning Montessori School, where there is freedom within limits for the child to make the choice of his work. The learning opportunities that are offered where the child works at his own pace rather than being timed or limited to a certain material and or lesson. This concept instinctively promotes the child to have a natural quest to learn and learn more of. I am looking forward to the journey in meeting your children, seeing the world through their eyes and planting seeds where they can continue to grow.
